We now live in an age that has to think seriously about ‘Digital Legacy’ and how it should be used to enrich and inspire those who come after us.
‘Enhanced Departures’ is a web based concept whose original inception was created by myself as a way to consolidate the story of a life, however short, into a ‘now’ form of remembrance; utilising social media, music, film and still images to celebrate a life!
Traditional Services have a place but I would argue that all things change and that the market leader has been too slow in creating any movement away from core, age based, concepts and it is here that I can develop a new type of ‘Digital Legacy’. The market leaders (CO-OP) average price for an impersonal funeral service is currently @£3,500! I believe now is the time to seize this initiative and combine the many strands that impact and have influence upon the future of our lives and beyond.
Imagine, in our busy lives, being able to attend a service, online or via a mobile device; even other types of service; marriage, etc.; and contribute personal input, or with relevant permission, access a life cut off in its prime, to be inspired and carry on the flame.
In Britain, ‘Death’ is still for many a taboo subjec,t often because there is nowhere outside the changing views of religion in today’s society of church or temple to prepare for it and the implications of a life’s legacy. Within the formative concept of Enhanced Departures itmwill provide such a platform; even allowing those facing terminal illness to leave to the world, or just loved ones, their story, their way…
So turn for help, understanding and assistance to ED to revolutionise the future of ‘loss’ as an enduring memory, a place to visit the ancestors, to engage in their lives and to inspire and enrich our own.
